Lymphoma is a group of blood cell tumors. Since it’s present in the bloodstream it can spread and metastasize to different parts of the body. There are two types of Lymphoma, non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin, with non-Hodgkin being the most common one. Children and adults under 25 years of age are at a higher risk of developing this type of cancer. Thankfully, by following a solid treatment plan, lymphoma is often treatable.
Amongst the symptoms are the enlargement of lymph nodes that does not go away, lymphadenopathy and enlargement of the spleen while some patients may also experience itching (also known as cancer itch), fatigue, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, blood in the stool, neuropathy, headaches and seizures.
The signs and symptoms of lymphoma are often similar to those of viral infections and common colds. This increases the chances of a patient receiving a misdiagnosis or delays in diagnosis of lymphoma.
A physical examination, blood tests, imaging tests, a spinal tap and biopsies are used to detect and diagnose lymphoma. Amongst the most common treatment options are biologic therapy, antibody therapy, radiation and radioimmunotherapy, chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation and surgery.

What our patients say about us
After the first round of BCG and a follow up cystoscopy......I am cancer free. The doctor even did a deep biopsy on the spot where he removed the polyps previously and it was all clean and good according to the pathology report. I owe you and your group a debt of thanks on the BCG recommendation. You can use me as a reference anytime.Thank you.....so much.
The Cancerdocs oncologist who examined my case has the amazing ability to not only listen to what a patient is saying, but to hear what the patient is asking. I consider my case complex, and was deciding between two different directions, either of which could change my life. He helped me recognize the risks and benefits of both paths, and I am now comfortable with my decision.
We appreciate the fact that you guys exist. You were a great resource.
Cancerdocs is an amazing place to get a second opinion, get questions answered, and have some peace of mind your not nuts. I highly recommend getting set up with them. They are patient and very easy going and very polite. Non judgemental and extremely helpful. It has made having a child with cancer a little easier to deal with.
I have to admit that you have an excellent service. Speaking with one of the top US oncologist clarified many doubts and got us peace of mind.
